Salvador López

Salvador López Pérez was born in La Eliana (Spain) where he received his first musical education in euphonium/tuba at Escuela de Música de la Unió Musical l’Eliana, where he is a member and musician of the Symphonic Band of this Music Society.

In 2011, he completed the Intermediate Degree in Euphonium with first class honours and achieving the grade prize at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Llíria (Spain), even he got the First Autonomic Prize of Music.

During this years, Salvador has taken master classes with Chuck Daellenbach (member of Canadian Brass), Oystein Baadsvik (International soloist), Alessandro Fossi, Fabian Wallerand, Brian Bowman, Floyd Cooley, Dan Perantoni, Andreas Hofmeir (Tuba tutor at University of Salzburg), Steve Rosse and the members of  Miraphone Tuba Quartet (Olivier Galmont y Philippe Gallet).

Since 2011, Salvador is active student at Academia de Tuba-Bombardino Miraphone, taking classes with Vicente López (Tutor at Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia and founding member of Spanish Brass), and Sergio Finca (Spanish Brass Luur Metals).

Salvador has been prized in numerous National Competitions: he won the First Prize at Tuba Competition “Ciutat d’Altea” in 2008 and 2009, first prize, the Honourable Mention with maximum points within the respective category at Second National Tuba Competition “Vila Joiosa” in 2011 and 2012; and in International Competitions: First Price at Young Performers Competition “Ciutat de Llíria” (Spain), and finalist at International Competition of International Congress of Tuba and Euphonium “ITEC” in Linz (Austria).

At present, he is studying in his 4 year at Conservatorio Superior de Musica Joaquín Rodrigo de Valencia, and tubaist in the musicians’ board of Joven Orquesta Nacional de España and Joven Orquesta Nacional de Catalunya Alevins.
